Stephen McLoughlin of Rockville Centre has been a member of the Friends of Mercy Medical Center since 1993, served as president in 2007 and remains an active member on the Executive Board of the Friends. He was a founding member and fourth President of the St. Agnes Fathers Club.

Steve is a member of the Board of Directors of Catholic Health Services of Long Island. “CHSLI” is the Corporate entity that controls 6 Hospitals, 3 Nursing Homes, Catholic Home Care, Good Shepard Hospice and Maryhaven Center. His work there includes Quality Management Committee, Performance Improvement and Community Benefits Committee

Steve was invested in the “Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem” in 2015 and as a Knight he strongly endorses the good works performed by the Order in the Holy Land.

Steve has worked in the financial printing industry since 1977 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Command Financial. He is a member of numerous societies and professional organizations including: the Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, the Shareholder Services Association and the Society of the Friendly Sons of St Patrick in the City of New York.

Steve’s early education included St. Rose of Lima Grammar School, Brooklyn Prep and Massapequa High School, graduating in 1968.  He attended Villanova University and graduated in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics.  He continued his studies at Long Island University’s C.W. Post Campus earning a Master of Business Administration in 1974. 

He has contributed many years of service in his hometown of Rockville Centre, beginning with the Annual St. Agnes Parish Celebration. He has coached Little League baseball and CYO Girls Basketball.  He was the Chairman of the Sacred Heart Academy Golf Outing in 1999 and 2000, and he was honored by Sacred Heart Academy for service to the school in 2001. He has been the honoree at the Mercy Golf Outing and received the Bill Cronin Award at the Fathers Club Golf Outing in 2014

Steve’s relaxation has always come through athletics; football and track in high school, and playing lacrosse in college. He coached C.W. Post’s lacrosse team while earning his Masters degree, and then played for Huntington Lacrosse Club. Running marathons and other road races came later. 

Steve is married for 41 years to his wife Pam, and they have three children Todd, Brian and Anne, and one beautiful grand-daughter Heather.

In 2016 Steve and his wife Pam were chosen to receive the St Thomas Aquinas Award for their Strong support for Catholic Education by the St Agnes Cathedral School.

Steve’s work helping Mercy Medical Center, through CHSLI improve healthcare performance is a long term commitment based on his desire to help others through service toward the common good.
