Join us at our third annual Forward Together benefit as we come together to celebrate the immeasurable impact that Young Judaea camps, Israel programs and year-round activities continue to make in the lives of Jewish children, teens and young adults.
This year, we are thrilled to honor two exceptional individuals – Zionist leaders and exemplary role models for Young Judaeans today: Nancy Falchuk and Gil Troy.
We are delighted to honor lay leader Nancy Falchuk for her unwavering support of Young Judaea throughout the years. Nancy was a founding member of the Hadassah Medical Organization Board of Directors, and before assuming the role of President of Hadassah International, she was chair of the Medical and Scientific Relationships Committee. A trained nurse, Nancy co-founded the Hadassah National Center for Nurses Councils, the first and only professional organization for Jewish nurses. During her tenure as the 24th National President of Hadassah, Nancy played a pivotal role in ensuring that Young Judaea was well positioned for success as an independent organization. A member of the inaugural board of Young Judaea Global, Nancy has generously supported Young Judaea for more than 20 years. A true leader in the Jewish community and the community at large, and tireless advocate for Israel and her people, we are thrilled to present Nancy with the 2018 Young Judaea Ani V’ Atah Award.
In addition, we will recognize the accomplishments of YJ alum and American presidential historian, commentator, and author Gil Troy. Widely recognized as a thought leader in the field of modern Zionism, Gil’s most recent work is The Zionist Ideas: Visions for the Jewish Homeland – Then, Now, Tomorrow. As a follow-up to Arthur Hertzberg’s classic The Zionist Idea, Gil’s new work demonstrates that we now live in a world that offers many different ways to help Israel flourish as a democratic Jewish state. Gil has been widely published and quoted in American, Canadian, and Israeli media, and has received numerous awards for his publications, commentaries and academic work. A Judaean through and through, Gil grew up in Young Judaea and held leadership roles throughout the movement, including five years spent as Merakez at Camp Tel Yehudah. We are pleased to present Gil with the 2018 Camp Tel Yehudah Im Tirtzu Award for the profound impact he has had on modern Zionist thought, academia and more.
The evening will also commemorate 70 years of the State of Israel, and celebrate the impact Judaeans have had on the State since its founding in 1948.
Forward Together: A Benefit for Young Judaea is the organization’s premier fundraising event that to date has raised over $1 million to help ensure Young Judaea continues to deliver high quality, immersive, impactful educational experiences. As an independent 501(c) 3 charitable organization, Young Judaea depends on the support of its alumni, family, and friends—on your support—to meet the ever-changing needs of Jewish youth and ensure the affordability of its programs. “Let’s move forward together to build Young Judaea!”
