Big Apple Cares and St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital are excited to announce this year’s “Let It Ride Casino Royale and Masquerade”, to be held on October 25th, 2017 at one of New Jersey’s Best Banquet Venues, The Westmount Country Club. The event is being hosted by the Trust X Alliance, Big Apple Chapter. All the money raised throughout the night will be donated to St. Joseph’s Children’s Hospital, Child Life Department. Guests attending this year’s event will enjoy a night of gambling, fabulous foods, spirits, mingling, networking and feeling good about supporting a wonderful event for the children in addition to the spectacular people, food and drink. There will be multi-level raffles and if we are lucky even a vacation, as well as tickets to highly sought after sporting events such as Giants and Jets tickets.

St. Joseph’s Child Life Department As child life professionals, their mission is to reduce the negative impact of stressful or traumatic life events and situations that affect the development, health and well-being of infants, children, youth and families. They embrace the value of play as a healing methodology, as they work to enhance the optimal growth and development of infants, children and youth through assessment, intervention, prevention, advocacy, and education. Child life specialists are able to accomplish their mission through therapeutic play, preparing them for procedures, educating children about illness and by providing them relief from pain.

In 2009, the Big Apple Chapter launched Big Apple Cares, focused on charitable efforts for local organizations in need of technology assistance. In 2015, BAC launched their first Casino Night Fundraiser, and had great success thanks to all the support from the chapter and related networks. The selection process for the charity to be honored includes nominations and a voting process to decide the awarded charity. This year’s charity recipient, St. Joe’s, means a lot to the folks of the chapter as we are all a part of families with children and know what it means to help families in need. We look forward to a successful event.
