CORPORATE PARTNER OF THE YEAR
Each year GOSO gathers to honor organizations and individuals who have contributed essential resources and assistance, enabling our licensed social workers and mental health professionals to continue to perform their vital work. Because of honorees, each year GOSO helps criminal justice-involved young men become contributing members of their communities and initiate a path of positive and lasting change. This year, Getting Out and Staying Out will be holding its 6th Annual Gala on Wednesday, April 26th at The Lighthouse at Chelsea Piers.
Getting Out and Staying Out has spent the past year building and expanding our reach throughout NYC. We have facilitated deeper relationships with community partners, neighborhood residents, elected officials and small businesses. This focus has undoubtedly accelerated GOSO’s impact throughout New York and contributed to this year’s boost in accomplishments within our burgeoning community.
This year’s gala comes on the heels of a record-breaking year in terms of participation engagement. In 2016 GOSO served 569 young men at our community office, compared to 400 in 2015, and an additional 788 young men on Rikers Island, up from 560 in 2015. GOSO’s successful internship to employment program also received a fantastic and thorough profile in the New York Times.
As always, all proceeds from the gala will go directly into resources and programming to help further our mission of improving the lives of criminal justice-involved young men year after year.
