On Monday, June 13th 2016, Education Through Music will proudly celebrate 25 years of providing music education to inner-city schools in New York City. We will honor Steinway & Sons for its commitment to bringing music to children in need. Our annual Children’s Benefit Gala will be held at Cipriani 42nd St, with performances from Grammy award-winning musicians Chris Botti and Joshua Bell.
After 25 years, we at ETM remain dedicated to our mission and our core beliefs. We continue to insist that every child deserves quality music education, and that music, when taught well, can be a catalyst to improve students’ academic achievement, motivation for school, and self-confidence. Our programs begin by cultivating close relationships with principals. We hire well-trained, qualified teachers to lead our children, and we nurture them into effective music educators through professional development. We collaborate with classroom teachers to demonstrate how music supports learning in all areas. Our ultimate goal is to create communities that value arts education and to build music programs that last long after our partnerships.
The impact of our work can be seen every week as our students receive comprehensive music instruction as part of a well-rounded education. ETM first began at one school with 175 students, and today our music programs serve nearly 27,000 students at 48 partner schools in all five boroughs in New York City. Your generous commitment will help ETM expand its footprint city-wide and throughout the country.
We hope you will join us for a memorable and inspiring evening as we celebrate our 25th anniversary and honor our partner Steinway & Sons. Should you have any questions about sponsorship benefits, please call 212.972.4788 or email [email protected].
